Back Bay Four Quartet
Back Bay Four formed in early 2001 and is made up of members of the Portland Downeasters chorus. The quartet has performed on the Portland, Brunswick and Waterville annual shows as well as many performances around the state.
They have made the decision not to compete, but still delight in entertaining audiences in concerts for all occasions. If your group is looking for quality Barbershop entertainment, please contact Cy Kendrick after the show by phone at 207-729-5201.
David Brown, tenor, from Raymond,is a mechanical engineer who, when not singing, likes cycling, hiking, and chain sawing. He often transforms into a crazy clown whenever there’s a parade. In fact, he sings doing those things too!
Walt Dowling, lead, from Ocean Park, joined the Downeasters Chorus in 1999, and sang with the popular Oarsmen Quartet. He also sings lead with the Port City Sound Quartet, and is active in the Downeasters Chorus music team. He enjoys spending time with family, skiing, long walks, and reading.
Cy Kendrick, bass, from Topsham, has also been singing barbershop since 1991. A retired chemical engineer, Cy recently became obsessed with Pickleball; in addition to his hobbies of golf, scrabble, and taking an occasional nap.
Jay Wiley, baritone, from Brunswick, has been singing barbershop since 1991. He directed the Brunswick Nor’easter Chorus for ten years and currently is Director of the Downeasters Chorus. A design engineer, Jay enjoys flying radio-control model planes, model trains (his latest hobby), and is also a licensed pilot.
